About Mindful Living

JMiller.jpg_0.jpegMindful Living is a center located in Rochester, Michigan dedicated to helping you enhance your overall well-being....emotional, mental and physical. The Mindfulness-based techniques we utilize have been the subject of countless rigorous scientific studies which have shown clinically relevant reductions in medical and psychological symptoms for conditions including anxiey and depression, illness and chronic pain, high blood pressure, heart disease, grief, low self-esteem, eating disorders and other demanding work and life situations. Improving the quality of your life is Mindful Living's goal.

What is Mindfulness? Simply stated, it is paying attention and observing your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in the present moment without judgment. This awareness allows you to INTENTIONALLY RESPOND instead of AUTOMATICALLY REACT, thus reducing stress, increasing clarity and focus, enhancing the way the brain processes negative emotions with actual changes to neural pathways, increasing self-confidence while improving relationships with others, and positively influencing the immune system.

How is this achieved? By tapping into your inner wisdom, you are empowered to create space for wise choices in all areas of life. Techniques include Mindful Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, meditation, gentle yoga adaptable to all levels of physical ability, and enjoyable home practice that reinforces your learning. All are tailored to your unique goals for enhancing your life through Mindfulness.

Mindfulness workshops, multi-week courses, and individual therapy are available at the Mindful Living studio and online. Mindful Living will also come to you with presentations and courses custom-designed to meet your group or organizational needs and schedule. Initial consultations to determine your goals and the most beneficial means of achieving them are free of charge by appointment.
